Eight Day Heritage Tour
In brief, this tour begins in Dublin where the group has a private van tour of the city stopping at the General Post Office to learn about the Easter uprising ans the destruction of records at the Four Courts Public Records office, then on to Trinity College. Trinity College is where many of the Leslies received their education.
Then the group travels on to Castle Leslie Estate in Glaslough. There the group will tour the grounds, the castle, and see the Leslie Famine Wall. During the two-night stay, members of the group will hear about the branches of the family branches in Ireland. Also, a short history of the Great Famine and of course learn about the Fighting Bishop of Raphoe.
Then it is on to Belfast to the Titanic Quarter and to the Ulster history Center. The tour continues on to Donegal and then south to the National Famine Museum.
The tour continues on returning to Dublin for more visits to city sights including the General Post Office (GPO) building where many family records were lost in the fire of 1922. See: The 1922 Fire The tour will end with a farewell dinner.
